‘CROYDON CONTEMPORARY ARTIST COMING BACK TO HER ROOTS’
 
Croydon born artist Elizabeth James is to open a contemporary art gallery in the heart of South Norwood SE25, after
 
winning a competition by Croydon Council as part of the plan to regenerate Croydon. The new gallery will launch on
 
Wednesday 7th December 2016 7-9pm, bringing an eclectic mix of art, design, gifts, homeware and workshops.
 
At the launch we will be having a raffle to help raise funds for all those affected by the recent tram crash in Croydon. 
 
All money raised will be donated to Croydon Council 's official Crowdfunding page 
 
The gallery will host exhibitions showcasing the best of Croydon's young talent alongside Elizabeth; a well
 
established artist, which will help raise their profile as upcoming artists. The gallery will also be inviting local primary
 
/secondary schools and colleges to attend for educational visits and workshops, there will be Live Art Saturday's -
 
artists will come and create art in the gallery window so the community can see their talent and working process.
 
Elizabeth James is a contemporary UK Lifestyle Brand established in 2013. Products are proudly created in the UK
 
using only British manufacturers. Exhibiting regularly at art fairs and events, Elizabeth James was in the top 5 artists
 
ranked 4th out of 100 at The Other Art Fair in April 2014. In 2014 work from the company’s Colour in Motion series
 
was exhibited at the Works on Paper Art Fair in the Science Museum, at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant London House
 
in Battersea Square, and at Stratstone of Mayfair Aston Martin showroom for the luxury launch of the new Vanquish.
 
Elizabeth James is proud to support their chosen charity Breast Cancer Care and has worked closely with the charity
 
to create products to help raise awareness and much-needed funds. Elizabeth James was raised above a shop at 21
 
Portland Road which is opposite the new gallery in SE25, she lived there from the age of 3 weeks - 21 years old. Her
 
father also owned a motor spares shop on Portland Road SE25.
